Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicular recording magnetic head capable of achieving a high recording density, a magnetic storage device, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The single magnetic pole type recording element 30 of the perpendicular recording magnetic head 10 is constructed in such a manner that an auxiliary magnetic pole 35 is disposed on a floating surface 12 side via a main magnetic pole 32 and a nonmagnetic insulating film 31, and the main magnetic pole 32 is constituted of a high Bs part 33 made of a ferromagnetic material having a high saturated magnetic flux density, and a low Bs part 34 made of a ferromagnetic material having a saturated magnetic flux density lower than that of the ferromagnetic material of the high Bs part 32 and formed in a recess 33a disposed in the center of the track width direction (Y direction) of a trailing side (X 1 direction). The linearlity of the track width direction of the contour line of the trailing side of a recording magnetic field intensity distribution is improved. Further, another low Bs part made of a ferromagnetic material having a saturated magnetic flux density lower than that of the ferromagnetic material of the high Bs part 33 may be disposed to cover the trailing side of the high and low Bs parts 33 and 34. 【課題】 高記録密度化が可能な垂直記録用磁気ヘッド、磁気記憶装置、およびその製造方法を提供する。 【解決手段】 垂直記録用磁気ヘッド10の単磁極型記録素子30を、浮上面12側に主磁極32と非磁性の絶縁膜31を介して補助磁極35を設け、主磁極32を、飽和磁束密度の高い強磁性材料からなる高Bs部33と、そのトレーリング側(X 1 方向)のトラック幅方向(Y方向)の中央に設けた凹部33aに、高Bs部33の強磁性材料よりも飽和磁束密度の低い強磁性材料からなる低Bs部34を形成した構成とする。記録磁界強度分布のトレーリング側の等高線のトラック幅方向の直線性を向上する。さらに、高Bs部33と低Bs部34のトレーリング側を覆う、高Bs部33の強磁性材料よりも飽和磁束密度の低い強磁性材料からなる他の低Bs部を設けてもよい。 【選択図】 図3
